Flyweel raises $2.41M pre-seed, targeting US ad-spend financing

Queensland fintech Flyweel closed a $2.41M pre-seed round led by Ten13, with backing from Antler, QIC, and operators including Mollie CEO Koen Köppen, Zip cofounder Larry Diamond, and Stake cofounder Matt Leibowitz.

The company builds the financial layer underneath ad spend: embedded lending that funds campaigns upfront, repaid as revenue lands. They are adding spend cards, bill pay, and yield on idle cash. Launch is US-first in coming months.

Flyweel has processed $110M in ad spend across nearly 1,000 businesses. The product connects ad platforms, CRM, and accounting in real time to turn ad budgets into measurable investments instead of expense lines.

Founded in 2025 by Reuben Scheckter (CEO, former lead gen operator who managed $40M+ in ad spend) and Matteo Calo (ex-Adyen, Mollie, Semrush payments engineering, $300M+ processed annually). They met during Antler's 2024 residency.

Scheckter's pitch: AI is accelerating ad spend cycles, new platforms like ChatGPT are launching ad products (already piloting in Australia), and businesses are moving in-house from agencies. The gap between ad payment and revenue collection still exists. Flyweel finances that gap and manages the flow.

Sales implications: If this scales, it changes how growth-stage companies staff ad ops and finance roles. Embedded lending for ad spend could shift budget ownership from finance to growth teams. Worth watching for hiring signals as they enter the US market.

Context note: This appears to be a separate entity from the digital commerce Flywheel that Omnicom acquired for $835M. That company (founded 2014) helps brands manage Amazon and retail media. Different business, similar name. No public data yet on Flyweel's ANZ headcount, sales leadership, or office footprint.
